Introduction

The circuit of Calafat was build in 1974. Was designed and financed by Jordi Xiol with an initial cost of 30 million of pesetas of the 70's (180.000 Euros).

It was closed in 1982 and 1985 because legal problems. In 1990, the catalan government does a partial remodelation and it was more length until the actuall 3.250 m.

Between 80's and 90's, there was an important scene of cometition because there runs the Citroën Cup and motorbike's puntuable seasons.

El circuito de Calafat se construyó en 1974. El circuito fue diseñado y financiado por Jordi Xiol con un coste inicial de 30 miliones de pesetas (180.000 Euros).

Tubo distintos problemas legales que comportó el cierre cautelar en 1982 i 1985. En 1990 con la intervención de la Generalitat de Cataluña se remodeló parcialmente i se amplió su trazado a los actuales 3.250 m.

Entre los 80 y los 90 se celebraron importantes competiciones como la Copa Citroën y algunas pruebas puntuables del mundial de motociclismo.
