$80 seems like a lot. I'd feel comfortable getting any of the accutire gauges.

I bought this one from Menards years ago. The box clearly said the readings were +/- 1 psi and it gives readings in units of 0.5 psi. http://www.amazon.com/Accutire-MS-44...2?ie=UTF8&s=hi

Yeah I had one of those accutire ones go to hell on me. maybe something in between that's rubber/steel rather than plastic.

I've had an accutire for years, no problems with it, seems very consistent.

I bought mine through my mecanic from his tool supplier which is called SnapOn. It was about $30 (CAD) that is about $31 (USD) It only reads to 75 PSI but that is a good thing because the higher it reads if its analog which it is the less accurate it is. The main thing is as posted earlier is that it is consistent, you pick a baseline pressure and work with it.

BINGO, The Instructor has it right. Buy a durable tire pressure guage and use it, repeatable is the key word. I'm sure most tire pressure guages are off by some degree but not that far off. Don't use your guage at the track and then later use someone elses guage, they will most likely read different.

I have an Intercomp guage and I like it and I trust it.

Tip: don't leave your TP gauge in your garage in the winter if there is a change there is any moisture in it.... it will not survive freezing.

I use a digital from Autozone which when I side by sided with a very expensive analog was dead the same numbers. Something like $15 and the nice thing is that is that its not only small but as its a pistol grip its easy to use without releasing much air. Reads half pounds as well.
