Should have grabbed the keys, jumped in and screamed, "Drive it like you stole it, Ricky Bobby!!" And then did a hot lap around the block.

So the car passed tech today, including the DIY fire bottle holder. I was so encouraged by my meister fabrikation skilz that I bought a Pelican case to put my camcorder in and made some brackets to hard mount it to the floor in front of the rear strut tower. There are a bunch of nice tapped holes there, and the case fits in there nicely. This will be better than my current method: using a ratcheting tie-down to hold the camera (in a soft bag) down on the floor in the same location. Even bought a nice LANC extension and 12V DC adapter for the camera to make a nicer install and not have to worry about batteries. I was stressing about how to tape the 4.5 hours I'll be on-track Friday the 11th. OK, so maybe 4.5 hours is optimistic.

I can get 90 minutes on my Sony P200. I'll probably have my laptop with me so I can download video as I go.
