Default Caliper color

After the last event, my nice silver calipers are amber now. I've read on the net that extreme heat will discolor the calipers. Anyone know if this is true?

Maybe vizwizs titanium shims would stop this.

Yes. The lettering on my front calipers (calipers are gold) turned from red to black. I've seen pictures of the calipers that have been baked brown. Happens to STis as well, as they have the gold Brembo calipers as well.

Well see the car knows you're a woman, and women like gold more than silver, so it's just trying to help you out.

It's very true.... the R series Volvo has Large 4-pot Brembo and if you run PFC97 and track it the gray turns to Gold and the silver R turns Red. The shims definitely mitigate that.

Even the stop tech paint job is changing a bit. The white lettering on the calipers is yellowing.

A good friend of mine had StopTechs on his 350z and after one day at Carolina Motorsports Park, his nice fire engine red calipers were a shiny dark bronze color

Well... he's since sold the car, but I'm pretty sure they were the 13" BBK

Ah. I run the 14" up front. That 1" makes a big difference in temp.
