Alright.. building an iRacing setup. What's the latest?
So i know most of you guys are running the matrox triple head splitter and it's got a limited resolution, but I'm looking at these bigger cards and ATI's eyefinity stuff.. seems like it could be a good replacement, letting me invest the $300 I'll save on the matrox box into actual GPU hardware. three 24" 1080p monitors and an 8750HD should do the trick, no? 5760x1080 is a big number.
I'll have to snag the good wheel and pedals along with that seat frame as well.. just going to do it right.

Hmm.. the 5870 is a little ridiculous.. I could try this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-318-_-Product
if it struggles at the resolution set up another one in SLI for the same price as the single 5870

that's not a bad price actually. I have the earlier playseat but not that happy with it.

For sure.. just finalized a used Fanatec turbo s wheel and the clubsport load cell pedals too. I think i've got everything on it's way.. don't even want to total it up.

Radeon 5850 is definitely a better value than the 5870. If you plan to do Crossfire someday get at least an 850W power supply. Let me know if you want other build suggestions...
As far as cases, I'm really loving my latest - an NZXT Tempest, though the other models from that company are great too. Nearly as nice as a Lian Li, but 1/3 of the price.
