At a minimum the track will be under repair the week of July 14. I don't know if there is any work going on the days you will be there but you should check with the bmwcca to see whether their days were cancelled as well.

It's official WGI is closed from 7/14 to 7/24. Wiping out 10 days of track rentals.

Just be extra careful in the esses. My contact at Trackmasters told me that is where the 6 Hour guys tore it up pretty well and the patching has not been holding up thereby necessitating the track closure for 10 days.

Did you manage to get your time on Saturday? Not only was I let down by having my NSX excluded, but I am annoyed with Skippy since he cancelled the Jag Club's day on July 4th because the track was not ready but he sold it as a lapping day to skippy drivers at $1100 each for a half day.

I went to LRP today for the ALMS practice and qualifying and I have to say the repaved track is beautiful. PCA members got to do a parade lap so I was able to go out for that one lap and found the track to be nice and smooth and the rumble strips look great.

The down side is that the LMP1 and 2 cars were giving the pavement a beating. The concrete rumble strips in a few corners was starting to break up a bit. The race cars were all over the rumble strips and really throwing up large clouds of dust in most of the corners because the grass hasn't had a chance to grow or fill in along the track. I had heard that Dyson didn't really like the new configuration for the uphill. It looked like in a few turns the asphalt was scrubbing off. I sat by the bridge for a while watching the cars come through the new chicane at turn 9 and wasn't sure if it was asphalt or rubber but the crews had to go out and clean the track every time the cars stopped running. I took a few shots of that turn and can post them if anyone is interested.

I'm back on the 19th, next Saturday, for a PCA DE and am hoping there is still a usable track after the ALMS race on Saturday. I was told today that we have to share the track with the "Club" members, 1 hour PCA, 1 hour Club members.

I really hope the ALMS folks don't tear the place up. Seems like LRP may have been too ambitous with their scheduling.

I'd like to see any shots of any corner you care to post.

Sharing the track your region has rented with "Lime Rock Club" members is not going to endear the track with their customer base. I wouldn't bother the pay full price for what will be a half day of track time. That sucks, no other way to put it.

I will be on the new pavement for parade laps later today but as a specatator I like what they have done to the track. There are new spectator areas that provide great photo ops. But it does seem that the track is still too green and is getting a bit torn up in corners leading to complaints from some drivers.

Here are a few photos from qualifying yesterday. Please accept my apologies for only Acura photos right now but I need to keep our sponsors happy. Plus, we have an all Acura front row with our local team, Highcroft, winning the pole. I will post a separate thread after the race with more photos to give other cars their fair share of cyberspace.

These photos are in the exit of the new West Bend.

From my vantage point today at the race at the new turn 9 chicane, the track didn't look as bad as I though yesterday. I didn't really walk the track today, I just stayed put at that turn.
I'd say a big turn of events for Acura, the Highcroft car was passed by several other cars(Porsche) right in front of me on the opening lap and then had an incident and spun in the same corner. Over all it looked like a good day for Porsche, at least it did when I left with about 15 minutes to go.

There were a number of incidents, spins and crashes at the turn 9 chicane, I've included a number of photos, the first from yesterday showing the track at that turn.
