Ducs and Yamis are the only way to go for a bike I believe. I will however be powered by Suzuki next year.

Would've voted for Yamaha, but Ducati has so much more soul and passion... (plink, another quid into the Top Gear Italian Car Road Test Cliché Box )

I voted Honda simply because that's what I started out with and they used to have the passion for design and pushing the technical envelope. Currently Suzuki is the class leader for innovation in design and power.

I'll be racing a Suzuki this year, I own a Kawasaki daily rider, I have owned Honda, Yamaha and Honda as well. Of all those listed, Honda and Aprilia were the most reliable and had soul.

Shocked to hear Aprilia was the most reliable you have had along with the Honda. I figured that baby would have been a bear to own.

Well, the reliability of the present line of manufactured motorcycles is far above what it used to be. One good thing that can be attributed to a global economy is quality control. If you are selling your product to a global customer base, it better be able to withstand extensive use under less than optimal conditions. The Aprilia engines that were made by rotax are some of the strongest and most reliable on the market today. Rotax also makes engines for BMW motorcycles and a few others. It is the other gremlins from in-house mfg that typically plague the customers. Parts are now shipped and warehoused stateside and often cost less than parts for other manufacturers products. Most are in a warehouse in GA or at AF1 in TX. The largest obstacle that Euro mfrs need to overcome is pride in their pricing. Yes they produce smaller quantities than the big four, but find a way to compete financially and they would increase sales almost exponentially.

Rotax motors were in various CanAm bikes too. H-D and a few others used the 500 Single they made.

Here is my 1984 Tandem 250cc motor (82 HP)
