First step into Trackpedia's future.
So as always I have been really slow at making progress at updating TP to look like a much more professional website as well as enabling a lot of functionality to make it more user friendly to our customers.
If everyone wants to check out the wiki side of the place you can see the new look and feel the whole site will take on here over the next few months. I would really like everyone comments if they have them.
Check it out: http://www.trackpedia.com/wiki/Main_Page
Also if you want your car or bike featured on the rotating pictures up at the top of the site shoot post them in photogarage of let me know where I can get them and I will add them to the rotation.

I think it looks good...
I do think the sponsor banners make the site look too busy... with everything changing and flashing and stuff, it gets very distracting.
I'd like to see the "Powered By" banner moved outside of the main site banner... maybe just below?
I'd like to see the sidebar go away from the main page, but I understand if there are commitments to having it there (I think on the wiki pages and forum pages themselves should be enough.)
And how about this... in addition to the rotating images on the top banner, have a rotating track diagram behind the new Trackpedia logo.

Thanks Stack. I like the idea of the rotating tracks graphic behind the TP logo and it would have been there if I had the time to actually load the images of different tracks into gimp and then get a white/silver line for each of the tracks that I could lay under the logo. I am going to work on this when I get the whole site looking and feeling the same. I just need an extra 4 hours in each day and life would be perfect.
My main goal is to try and make the site look cleaner and neater so I take your comments seriously and am going to play around with them over the next few weeks to see what I can accomplish once I get the heavy lifting of moving the forum side to this new look and feel. HOPEFULLY everything turns out nice and looks smooth.
I plan to work with the sponsors to in order to make everything flow well. Overall all of them have been excellent to site and every cent from them has gone back into the site to make it better (including our new vinyl cutter from which we will be sending every member Trackpedia stickers :P ) or mostly covering shipping the loggers around.
Thanks for the feedback and thanks for the pictures for the top which I will be using soon.

Great minds think alike I guess
Maybe TrackGraphic would be willing to let Trackpedia use their images? (though they really need to change Rockingham's)

Of course I do use an adblocker similar to this:
http://www.gozer.org/mozilla/ad_blocking/
Don't worry gents, it blocks at the rendering layer, not the network layer, so as far as trackpedia.com or the ad hosts are concerned, I'm still loading all the ads

Looking good John. The ads don't bother me as I have tunnel vision.
