Default A little more video

A bit of video from last week. Entitled the good, the bad and the ugly. The good... passing a GT3-RS (okay... no doubt it was still being run in, but it still counts!), the bad... a big bobble on hot tires in 11 but saved and finally in the the last session the ugly... a 720, once again on hot tires, once again in 11, simply trying to gap that turbo behind me. Sigh.

Nothing like showing your headlights to the guy behind you to make sure everyone is awake

On another note, were you able to get the Calabogie video from Lobo? If not, I can send you some laps that I shot this year.

Dear Mr. T. Wagger,

I greatly enjoyed your video submission, aptly titled too. The Ugly was truly that. RJ, what were you thinking??? But another thing great about this site is we share our mistakes as well as our perfect sessions. Wish I had been there for the bench racing after.

So the story is this. Kenny (who you'll note was behind me... the yellow turbo) and a pro driver from GrandAm in a 996 went out a couple of cars in front of me. Of course I had to try to catch them. I did manage tocut things from a thousand feet to around 100 when, unfortunately, the GrandAm dude's car started to over heat and he pitted. Kenny let me go by and I gapped him on the back of the couse, but coming into 11 I knew I had to really get on it or he'd catch me. Well, as the bad section clearly showed, I had gone in the there a number of times and made it through fine despite the car going loose (The rear video is obviously from a different session as I've only got a single camera). The trouble I suspect the last time was that I really built up too much heat in the rears. You'll note that immediately on turn in the car fails to take a set and just stepped out, whereas normally in that corner I have to do a lift and go to get it around.

BTW, I actually think it was a good spin. Given the grass and the little and thus staying shiny side up, clearly locked the brakes at the correct moment to stay out of trouble, didn't do anything stupid like release and go back across track. It was a textbook spin, they're rare for me as you know and certainly worthy of immortality at least ala youtube.
