Lap Times
What would be a good lap time in a stock car. I'm doing about 130ish on the back straight, 110 on the front, 65-70 through the bustop. I'm thinking 2:45ish. Not bad for a 3500+ lbs Stock 928S4, right?

2.15
Assuming its the full course (ie. with "boot") with the chicane (aka "inner loop") a good time is 2 mins 15secs say. I hear club race doing lap times just over 2 mins. There was a web site somewhere with times for different vehicles -- let me see if I can find it... A friend of mine in a 2002 stock 996 with street tires does 2.25

Lap Times At WGI
I only use a stop watch and so my times are "suspect" but I'm in the 2:17-2:22 range depending upon traffic. With more track days you'll get that 928S4 around a lot quicker The really fast guys are pulling 2:02-2:03's etc.

Helio set the track record in September at 1:31 I think. That's nuts.
Maybe I'm running less time than I thought. This year I'm trying a few different things, I have some sway bar drop links on the way to tighten her up a bit for corners like the toe of the boot, so my speed may be better coming out them. Plus I've been reading Speed Secrets and have picked up a few pointers to try along the way also.
So maybe I'm running closer to 2:30? I'll have to have someone do some stop watching this cming year for me.

Isn't a wiki great
Just updated the glen page on the wiki with sample lap times that I found. Whats cool is that unlike a forum, the wiki makes it easy to keep information together in one place.

For reference, your car would run in PCA class E. If fully prepared to the maximum of the rules, it's probably a 2:12ish capable car with a pro driver driver. A good driver would in the 2:14s. If it is bone stock on R tires, probably 2:19s. If you're on street tires, you're talking about 2:22ish.
I ran 2:13.0 this year in my D stock '91 964 Turbo.

38D...as I said my lap times were "suspect". I drive a '93 964 RS America, Hoosiers etc, DE only, as I know you are a club racer with a totaly awesome car my stop watch is wrong, or I'm hitting it before start / finish :-) I know I can claim at least a 2:20 or 2:19.
BTW guys, I'm a Rennlist member since 6/05 but have not been able to post as of yet due a long and boring story. So...I know you guys from being a "lurker"
Cheers.

What are typical times some of the more novice drivers end up running around the Glen? I am thinking that as the information grows on the site it would be pretty nice to have a section that contains lap times broken out in Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced which would help people gauge themselves.
Thoughts?

Sounds like a plan. Figure Novice about 2:45 would be a good time. Intermediate 2:30, Advanced 2:10.
Of course that would depend on the car running. A great driver in a 912 wouldn't put up a good time.

Great I will try to get the format into the track pages tonight and then I guess we will just let the community add stuff as it becomes available.
