Not true! It was a good day for John's (now defunct) competition! It was a conspiracy, I tell you!

LOL Conan good point. It was all a setup from the fear of the others.

Thanks for the comments guys. I never planned on not getting right back on the horse once this happened. I honestly can't wait to get back in the car (or another DSR) some day again. Man nothing beats that 13k RPM sound...I was pretty much in heaven for those last two sessions once I started getting the feel back for the car and how much I could really push it.

I am going to have some folks around here take a look at the chassis and see what they think about the damage the fire did. Brent (F1rocks) is also going to help me out with hardness testing some of the parts as well to see if anything can be saved. If she can its going to be a summer/winter of rebuilding in the basement and I'll be back in action next year.

I am not sure why in the hell the oil cooler blew apart. Talking to a good number of folks today I heard from most that in all their years of experience this is a first catastrophic failure of this magnitude that they have seen in the D-sport realm. Guess like I always say...go big or go home.

God damn Grape Ape disease. First it hits Eric this year and now me.

Tom F - Yeah not sure I am going to need that annual this year...but I will be back. Trust me.

When you have the head EMS guy at the track say "In my 14 years of working here I have never seen anything like that" you pretty much know you did something special. Only wish it was a lap record or something.

I am well aware of what heat damage does to the tube frame structure. It was a mild joke of irony of how much damage fire can do to the car in so little time.

Yep it sure can. Dunno if you can see it in my pics, but some of the steel rear suspension members were bent/warped from the heat

Which ones? I can't tell. John get me one of those that may have warped and one closer to the cockpit. I want to test those and cut some samples.

I'm making a trip up to visit the carcass tonight and will bring home something if I can get it off.

I got your joke jamesb. It is amazing how fast something can end up completely destroyed by a fire.

Unbelievable! This is ridiculous. I was so bummed when the motor blew up in my car and when I lost 4th gear, I can't believe what you must feel like. If my car burned down I would probably cry. Ever figure out why that fire ext didn't work?
