Default Getting closer!

Spent the weekend here with the help of Eric and Rob from TP here and FINALLY have the Stohr running again! Let me tell ya she sounds absolutely wicked compared to the old motor. The new EFI version spins a lot quick and sounds pretty mean.

I have a lot of work yet to do but after fixing a major oil leak I just have two small ones to address both on the dry sump tank.

Big thanks goes out to Rob, Eric, Billy, Steve and Jim Lill for their help along the way in getting here and on the professional side I cannot say enough about Carriage House Customs and the work they did!

Tomorrow nights dedicated to finalizing the wiring and getting everything prettied up. In the mean time here is a picture and video of the motor running. Enjoy. I cant wait to get a full in car camera one here soon!

Yeah pretty happy with it over all. Had a set back tonight with a plug in the dry sump tank leaking and then once I had it out realizing the plug had ate the majority of the damn lower threads. But a little JBWeld and I think I will be in business once it all cures tomorrow. Then its back on to actually finalizing my wiring harness, retesting the engine for leaks and then doing some heat cycling.

Andris what motor did the FSAE run?

We ran a late mid-90s Yamaha YZF 600 running 6psi boost (in some lift throttle cases 6psi vacuum due to the 19mm restrictor)... It was so quiet that we built a custom 8" long CF muffler to muffle it to 110dB. It still had the classic moto sound.

I may be running CBR600 for my personal FSAE-esque car that I can hopefully get running for the 2008 auto-x season.

The 600cc engines are interesting but I am shocked you could run a turbo as from all I have heard the gearboxes tear up big time when you start putting more than 140hp into them.
