Happy to meet ya Nick. [Begin Section] Don't know where you moved in from, but MidWesterners are supposed to be tough. Five hours? Hell, me and Lobo6 (who you'll undoubtedly meet shortly) did 3 sessions at VIR and then drove straight through all the way back to Boston... towing. And we're flabby old left leaning New Englanders. Up here we only have little dinky tracks close. NHIS is 1:30 away, LRP is 2:30 away, both around a mile and half in length. Our 'home' real race track is the Glen which is 6+ hours away. I'm going to Tremblant, Calabogie and Mosport this year, all about 8-9 hours away. Oh and VIR? 13 hours. Thats we're we draw the travel line, being kinda wimpy and all. [End Section]

Just actually heard about Iowa. Apparently theres a grand am race there this year where Mark Martin is making his road racing debut in June or July IIRC. Sound like an interesting track.

Default Thanks for the warm wellcome

Thanks for the warm wellcome, sorry, I wasn't able to read it for some time.

Sorry, I'll be not able to join you at BIR this time - I'll have to be at Mayo that weekend and they will not like me to miss Monday as well.

Yes, and I know that racing is pricy... always wanted to get out to some nice place, but money and availiability of tracks always was an issue... as I understand thats why you have this forum.

Anyway thanks to everybody for replies and I'll be someplace arround to bother you with questions if you don't mind.

well, I don't have such a nice list as TailWagger...

driving 00 Merz E320 and 98 Chev Cavalier - not a race set, ust for driving

Please no jokes about Cavalier - that one is manual, and is fun to drive on forest roads.

Wow! That sounds very interesting - I haven't seen any F1 since I moved to US in 2004. I trying to watch something over web, but then gave up... I know it is out of topic, but maybe open another topic to discuss that one: where and how you watch it.

Default F1 in Rochester

Brothers, on Broadway by Soldier's Field, for the Morning practices. Check Speed TV listings to see when it is (be sure to switch to Central Time Zone) They have an area in the back in which they let us sit and turn the volume up a little. We still spend more time talking than watching the practice (since it is only practice) but it's fun. You're welcomed to join us.

But OTOH your wife loves you and isn't plotting to have all your extremities removed...
