open road challenge for the brave
If you would like to do an open road race.Sandhills Open Road Challenge at Arnold,Neb is it. My friends ran it last year and had a great time ,so I might try it this year. Check our the web site

What kind of race is it? Like a rally? or drive closest to a specific speed?

this one said that it is 50 miles round trip. The Big Bend in Texas is a 118 miles round trip. I think doing one of these "open Road Course would be fun. But I think that the are more expensive than DE.

Too bad the race has been full since Jan 1st...
Maybe next year. Looks like a Hill Climb only better!

The site says that the rule book is down for updating. It would be interesting to see how they do their classification, and to see if it's a TSD (time speed distance) format vs. a time trial format. I assume it's TSD as they have to be using public streets. Also of note is that in the unlimited class '06 results every entry was either dsq'd or "red flagged"...naughty, naughty! I guess they don't have quite as open a course as the one they run in Newfoundland each year, which is absolutely flat out on public roads for many of the stages. Tough to do in the US.

openings possible for 2007 race
Past racers are automatically registered for the next years race . They must reply by April 1 or there space will be offered to the public. If you want to run this race check soon
