I second John's idea. We have lots of great tracks out here in cali that would be cheap to rent for such an event.

Cool thanks. Some of that we can help with, some of it, not so much. This year should be better.

I think it would be cool to see what folks could bring out. Have it be a real race or a TT.
The $200X Challenge is not as portable as the Ultimate Track Car Challenge. The $200X Challenge has always been an autocross, drag and concours thing. It is not easy to get a facility that can accommodate all of that in one weekend easily. We have been very fortunate with the strip in Gainesville, and it will most likely stay there.

The Ultimate Track Car Challenge is more of an event that can move from track to track around the country. The nice thing about the UTC is there is no budget. If you build a fast car for $2,000, it could be chosen. If you build it for $50,000, it could be chosen.

I appreciate the feed back. I think the general consensus is having a GRM sponsored event some where on the west coast. And that is definitely something we want to do.

GRMChris... you might get a kick out of this photo...

My good friend Roy Armstrong driving his custom tow vehicle during parade laps at our HPDE at VIR Feb 10th & 11th (I took the liberty of flipping the photo so the flags would read properly )

Can we get an issue out that doesn't mention Travis Pastrana and the X-Games again? Three in a row was enough for me.

I am in my second year of subscription to GRM and i love it not much I would change keep up the good work , I like the event coverage, the how to's, and all things related to driver improvement. I also like the project cars, especially the e30 as I have one of those and would like to get it into spec e30 one of these days.

I'm sure you could find a NASA or SCCA region might be interested in shouldering that load....

Maybe. A 24 hour race is no easy thing.

Any other ideas?

Who plans on heading to Road Atlanta for the Mitty?

MINI is supposed to have a lot of involvement this year too.
