Default Video footage from Grattan!

Got some video from my trip there this past weekend. Did Time Trials with NASA (TTC) and placed 2nd out of 6 cars. Best lap was a 1:32.863. Vehicle is 1997 BMW M3 and this was my first time at Grattan.

Challenging course! I'm sure to find some more time next trip.

My traqmate data is available on their Share and Compare website (under Michigan).

I was 0.7 seconds off first (David Proudfoot in TTC S2000).

Taking the jump from HPDE to Time Trials, I am finding the 'new track learning curve' needs a much more accelerated pace! Could have used my laptop that weekend for more data analysis... atleast I have the data to put a plan in place for next trip.

Even with the data, Grattan has so much 'character' (i.e. elevation, bumps, patches) that you can't think of it in 2D terms.

I am currently tied for first in NASA Midwest TTC points. Second half of the season is at my strongest tracks (Autobahn CC because I know that track very well, and Road America should play into my horsepower advantage (relative to the Stook)).

C and D were pretty close to on top of each other last year though... something to think about, even if you look at it as $499 for 3 days at Mid-O

edit - watching your video it looks like there could be speed gained by tracking allll the way out, might be leaving about a foot or two it seems, though it could be the lens too. My motto - 2 wheels off isn't 4 off

There were a few places on track of marbles and dirt, etc. right where the car would naturally go. If you watch around 9:00 into the vid, you see me get a little loose on the marbles, lol. I agree there are some driving line tweaking opportunities.. but not as 2-dimensional as it might appear.

Some corner exits were off-camber. No doubt some time there... but I may have been too chicken.

what you feel in-car should trump what some jackass says on the 'net after viewing a video only, esp if they've never driven there

Damn man awesome video. I know from watching Conan's in the Lotus last year to watching this the damn track is just insane. I can't believe how every turn there is just chaos.
