Damn... how did I forget to post results here from last week's race?!
Was a small turnout... four of us had a good time at Lime Rock Park: Myself, Mike Skeen, Kyle Kimberley and newbie iRacer Sean O'Connell
Click this link for detailed results:
http://iracing.asphaltventures.com/Results.html
Qualifying went about as expected, with Skeen over a second quicker than anyone else. The race start was a little confusing as I thought we were going to do a rolling start, but turns it was a standing start... oops!
After leading for a few laps, I was handily overtaken by Skeen down the main straight... did reasonably well trying to keep up, kept it on track for the most part. After a couple offs by Mike, I found myself in the lead again with about 8 laps remaining... trying my damndest to hold Mike at bay. He got a good run coming out of the last turn, maybe a little too good, and I saw him go off track left in my mirrors, then he disappeared, so I figure he had some connection issues (I noticed him blinking during practice and quali.)
So I was able to take the the inaugural win
We'll see what happens tonight though... hopefully we'll get a few more to turn out.

I was travelling. I tried doing some practise runs in the SRF at Laguna seca only to remember how much I hate that car If the real car drove like that then everyone would be in the wall. Nothing oversteers like the iRacing SRF. It can spin a 360 while stationery as far as I can tell

You know you can adjust that out right? (Mostly)
We're not racing again until NEXT Tuesday (October 5th) and I am considering a vehicle change.
I'd like to try to keep the newbies, cause I think iRacing can be a very valuable tool... but I also don't want to limit how many people join up because they don't like what car we're using.

OK, after a week off, we're picking up with Round #4, back at Lime Rock Park, this time, with the infamous chicane.
There are a couple more changes that might make it more appealing:
In addition to the SRF, I'm also adding the Mustang FR500R. I'm doing this solely based on the times of each car compared on Summit Point. The times I was running with the Mustang (in the race I WON btw!) were very close (slightly faster) than the times Skeen and I were running in the SRF's at Summit Point. So I figure it might be a fun mix and should allow similar chances at winning the "championship."
Also... for you mid-westerners... I've adjusted the time and the session format. We're still starting at 9:00EST, but I'm going to try it as an open qualifying session until 10:30EST
Race will begin at 10:30 and will include a ROLLING start to hopefully minimize any "off the line" advantage the Mustang might have.
I hope more of you will join us Tuesday night... October 5th!!

I was in but now I have to fly to Miami tomorrow so I'm out again, still, practising today with the mustang and the spinning top that is the SRF...
