Default Rota's or Team Dynamics wheels ?

I'm moving up to 15X7 wheels and looking at Rota Slipstreams and Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2.
I race a 2000 lb Hyundai Accent 110 hp.
5 race weekends with 1-2 hrs practice on Sat. and 3 30 min sprints + a 1 hr enduro on Sunday.
The Rota is lighter by 2 lbs and about $20.00 cheaper per wheel
My question is will the Rota survive ?
I've heard some of their wheels have quality issues.
no concern about the Team Dynamics as they are used in BTCC.

I don't care about the money but the 2 lbs per corner would be nice.

any ideas or advice would be appreciated.

Unless you're able to take advantage of the 2lbs per wheel, I'd go with the reliable wheels. Yes, in theory, it's faster but not all of us can drive like Mike Skeen, 4 x NASA national champion, pro driver, blah blah

Get the reliable ones and forget about it is my advice. When you're driving the wheels of the thing then look at doing something else.

I race a VW in SCCA/ITB with roughly the same kind of power. Be careful not to "over-tire" your car and thus have a weight penalty.

I run 205/50-14 and 14X6 wheels. Kosei wheels in that size are 9.3 lbs.

While it is tempting to go to something bigger, they are $$$ for something light.

Thanks for the replies !

I ran 14X6 205/50 for several seasons and when I tried some 15x7 205/55's I knocked off a full second.
I don't think I'll move to 225's.
A fellow racer said my car did not have enough power to make use of the extra rubber.

I've checked out several forums and there doesn't seem to be any issues with the Rota's however the Spec Miata guys all seem to run Team Dynamics so I will run those.

Thanks again for the help.

Cheers !

ran rota slipstreams for a few seasons until one cracked from the inside due to a caliper hitting it. just ordered team dynamics pro-race 1.3 from bimmerworld for the spec e30.
