Uh, I've got a dumb question: Where on the track is that? It looks like where you leave the boot, but I remember a tower and no sand trap, and driving in the other direction the last time I went through there!

T8->T9, last leg of boot as it (re)enters the main track. Sand was added for IRL. Pix is late 2005 @ Skippy School. Run direction CW.

Alright, I'm a moron. I kept looking at it as though the camera was positioned on the sole-side of the boot (pits to the left of camera), and not atop the hill with the NASCAR short straight!.. no wonder it just didn't look QUITE right!
