Default Ken's NASA Nationals thread

the car is ready (once I swap a fresh set of Porterfields on it in a few mins)

not 100% happy with the car numbers, they looked better on the computer screen before they were cut, but ah well. It will certianly get the job done. and I'll use this opportunity to remind you to check out www.trackpedia.com for any information you could ever want to know about a track, including turn-by-turn guides

Live Timing and Scoring Results can be found here

My track schedule is as follows (remember OH is Central time iirc)
Thursday: 9:40am, 1:20pm and 4:35pm
Friday: 9:55am, 1:50pm and 5:20pm
Saturday: 9:35am, 1:30pm and 5:20pm

My target laptime guess is in the 1:50.XXXs, I'll be able to tell you after day one how possible that is for me tho... heh. Current track record is 1:52 and change for my class, on the new surface but with the taller curbs (they've cut them down since then making it easy and a good idea to hop them). Everyone is expecting that 1:52 to fall, including the guy that set it

Hopefully they will be posting results on that same page so you won't have to watch live to keep tabs on me. The wheel to wheel championship races are all on Sunday if you want to keep tabs on those, should be some close competition.

I'll be updating the thread as I get there, drive on the track, etc.

Post Lookin Good

Agree about the car numbers, but they'll do. The Trackpedia logo looks great!

Looks good man. Eric is jealous of the logo talents. I am betting you will first be peeling bugs off and secondly peeling the Texas plates off. You have to be past the amount of time you can legally leave them on in NC.

1) do good, have fun, be safe....

2) Trackpedia looks great, can I get artwork file to cut (I have my own cutter) and get on my car before SCCA race (I leave Friday)

3) Numbers can be a problem. I had nice VW racing ones on my silver car and T&S rejected them for low contrast.

Im going to get them swapped to SC after the event.... as I'll be moving there on Mon-Tuesish

I can technically leave the car in TX as its still registered at my parents address, but with the registration fee increasing I'll come out ahead swapping to SC and paying property taxes on the car.

I'll send you the files Jim, just let me know where to send em! or drop me an email tonight (brewer.ken (at) gmail.com)

Default John's right...

... I am envious. Granted, I'm working on a budget. I went old school and got some cheap vinyl at the fabric store to use as a template, since the vinyl would cling to the paint, it made for a pretty good quality template. I'm using Dupli Color Car Art removeable paint so I can wash it off afterwards.

Send me a PM with techniques, and what this "Cutter" is that you have. Some sort of plotter that cuts?
