'84 Porsche 911 vs '91 NSX-R at Mid Ohio
http://www.scottbarton.net/videos/MOChasingNSX.wmv
Here is a video of me mixing it up with a supercharged NSX-R at Mid Ohio. I followed him for a half a lap and then passed him. He followed me for about 3 laps and then passed me. I then followed him for about 4 laps. The footage is from me following him the last 4 or so laps.
Data Overlay is from my TraqMate DAS and TrackVision software.
My best lap for the weekend was 1:45.95, with several 1:46.0x's. I was pretty happy with that since it was my first time to Mid Ohio.

you kept catching him because once he wasn't following you, he probably lost the idea of the right pace through the chicane
on your hotlap, its very good all things considered. You're leaving time in the table by committing to WOT coming out of the keyhole late, and not going WOT under the Honda bridge. You also got held up a bit in the carousel there at the end, but not too bad. I like your line
that is NOT an easy track to be fast at in your first trip

I can't really go WOT from the Honda bridge due to being out of Rev's. I hit the Rev limiter once their as I crested and it REALLY upset the car. I made a mental note not to do that again.
I'm not really sure why I backed off the throttle in the key hole and then applied it late. Maybe because I saw the dust cloud and assumed there might be dirt on the track?
I usually am WOT just before the Apex. I'm actually pretty surprised that was my fastest lap. I'll have to look at other sessions to see if I have a faster lap. I will have to compare it with others using split times to see where I gained and lost time.

I end up having to upshift there between those 2 45* turns, but luckily I can take the next turn in 4th if I get the entry speed correct
was this a recent trip? whats up with the sealer on the line?

It was Memorial Day weekend. Sealer was new from what I heard. To keep the high horespower cars from tearing up the pavement. Lots of grip in the dry. ZERO grip when wet. See this video for proof. It starts to pour just has I pass the kink on the back straight. I can't get the car slowed down enough for turn 7. As soon as I hit the sealer the car spins.
