So anyone in the midwest looking to get their SCCA licenses in 2008 the major regions around here have posted their drivers school schedules.

Central Division - Blackhawk Farms - April 26-27
Rest of the years schedule: http://www.cendiv-scca.org/03racing/01schedule/2008%20Tentative%20Schedule.pdf

Midwest Division - Memphis Motorsports Park - March 15-16
Rest of the years schedule:

Great Lakes Division - Nelsons Ledges - April 19-20
Rest of the years schedule:

I plan on making a smattering of the races and if a group want to head to the school together I am happy to come along and crew and help out. :)

I will be at the blackhawk event doing F+C. Maybe one day I will be in that drivers school. Being able to race. But I don't think that is going to happen for a long time.

One of the true highlights of my 40 years (this year!) of varied autosport involvement was putting MiDiv's Corner Worker Mom (the late Ann Taylor from Tulsa) in my ITB BMW 2002 so she could run sessions at a Hallett vintage road race event a decade or so ago. I never saw her with a bigger grin on her face and I know she ALWAYS had a huge grin whenever the groundpounders came thundering into our Flat Iron corner at the Ponca City Grand Prix back in the 70s! It's tough for a driver to make a car available for all workers, but if more drivers invited just one worker to take the wheel (under the right circumstances) they'd never regret it. At least, not until it creates another addict and further complicates the corner worker crunch facing tracks across the country. ;)

A few years ago I was at a Trackmaster event and a Volvo crony showed up with a Worker from the Pittsburgh area. She had been a worker for 20 years and never even rode a lap! So I hooked her up with Dinah Gueldenpfennig who took her out for a few laps in a Ferrari.... talk about a grin!

Give your workers more than a thumbs-up or post race party!
