Had a great time there.
Great weather Saturday, and mixed sunday wich was OK with me - I got to race some of the faster cars in the misting conditions - wet is the great H.P. equalizer!
Mylaps has me down for a 2:45.2 time, but I don't beleive it - many cars had a lap 1 time that was 2 sec faster than their best that day - I suspect there was a glitch. I did run a 2:47.7, and several 2:48's during the race. I'm working on video to be posted soon on Google video.

Nice work man.. sounds like a blast. You were FLYING too.. especially for race laps.
Would've been great to get down there. Only so many weekends in the year.

SP1 should be a good time next season, once all the cars are sorted and built and lazy folk like myself get around to finishing all the paperwork for their licenses we should have a pretty good bunch of guys to run with.

Eric had a great time with the Miata's this weekend. He has some great footage of the last lap! I let him explain further...
We had a great time in TT, a total of 46 cars (plus the HDPE 4 cars that were out there which brought us to over 60). I looked at Mylaps and I was getting some pretty consistant 2:40 laps. I really wanted to break in to the 2:39s. Maybe next time. I was 2 seconds faster this year.

2:45 would be rocking. Was that the lap with the beginning in the pit lane or the first real lap?

mylaps info comes straight from your timing results wich comes from your transponders and associated decoding hardware....

2:40's are nice laps!
On Saturday's race the fastest spec Miata had a better qualifying time, and they gridded the cars by class, so I started behind the whole SM field. I ran through the whole SM feild and came up on the 2 leading SM's towards the end of the race. WIle the car was really good at that point, and I probably could have passed them one at a time, I didn't want to get between them at the end of the race. I talked with the SM director, Brian Domont before the race about this possibility of mixing it up with the SM's due my grid position, and he said joked about just giving him a bump draft. Well at the end of the race, Eric Meyer had gotto out in front of Domont, so I gave Doment a little "help" when he asked for it (waving me up) to make thing close. Meyer still won, but by 2/100's of a second. Fortunately, those guys all took it very well, and thought it was pretty hilarious. Made for some great video! I will get it posted to Google video soon.

Billy, you're right, the 1st lap results were the pace laps - they turned out to be just under our race laps because we shortened the lap by cutting across from turn 5 to turn 14. Had me confused b/c they were so close.
In the wet, I was 3+ seconds quicker than the fastest SM's - my usual benchmarks, so the wet works well for me. What fun! You guys have to try this out!
There will be comp schools at Mid-Ohio (where I'll be in 2 weeks practicing for nationals) and Gingerman (hint, Mark)

Everywhere over the two days- turn 5,6,7, inside on the kink, straigts.
I've just got to compress the video & get it up on Google - the editing is done.

In the kink, that's pretty sweet!
I had my first pass in the carousel this weekend. I knew the driver and she gave me the point by but really didn't let up (I didn't want her too!) so I went in side by side and I stayed on it through the outside. I had her by the apex. I am sure she wasn't giving it all but it was a great feeling none the less to push the car so much off of the line.

Awesome video Eric, the 944 looks well able to keep up with spec miatas and that E30 it looks like also although he looked slow through turns but have the power on you on straights.
Cool

Big things are coming...
There will be a CASH paying sponsor - details forthcoming, and 3 more cars are being built locally. It's coming!
