Anyone seen this before? Looks like my car has 400lb on front wit 28mm torsion on rear.

wheres a good source for a non-budget busting somewhat accurate/precise pyrometer? (i'd prefer a nicer used one to a cheap new one, but as long as its accurate/precise enough to be useful....)

There are a couple on eBay right now. Get a probe type, not an infrared.

agreed
and searching Ebay
$30 and holy 1975 batman:

and a couple $80-$90 Longacre brand ones...
If you decide to get an infrared (I know probe is better for tires, but it might be nice to have an infrared around the house to check other things), one of our sponsors, Apex Performance has them on their home page for 56 bucks.

I recommend getting a Digital Multimeter that has a thermocouple provision, a Fluke 16 or some cheaper equivalent. You can then add any Type-K thermocouple (yellow plug) including tire ones. When done, you'll have a good VOM/DVM meter and pyrometer for all your track needs for < $200.

isn't this thread about suspension?
anyone have a link to an article describing, in detail, the effects of adjusting shock dampening? Everything I see has to do with geometry or spring tension. I've read about a billion articles on camber, caster, toe, soft roll bars, stiff roll bars, etc etc. Have yet to find one (again, in detail) about how changes in front/rear dampening effect the car.

Tire Temp is very much related to suspension as is shown in second post of this thread.
As to online info on the subject, it is limited. If you really want to know, you need to consult Bill Milliken's book
