I don't believe what just happened. Two engine issues in.two races. What's a guy got to do!

That was tough to watch. Better ways to end a career. Here's to hoping for better result in the race

10 to 1 tomorrow man. Drive of the year by a motivated person. Who knows Alonso in P4 might just end up into the back of Kimi or something. :D

A very good size group of Boston area track types are going to Tail Waggers house for a send off party in Michaels' honor. We have been promised 2 Hi-Def screens. I'll probably ruin everything by mentioning Sir Jackie Stewart. :D
...it was a helluva season. Exciting down to the last race.

I don't think I've seen Schumie drive that aggressively in a while, he was flying and taking no prisoners on his way to the finish. Very cool to watch, I think he even scared Kimi :)

He drove like a champion. What an amazing drive...and he gets to keep the car.

Just got done watching the last part on Tivo and my god did he drive the wheels off it. If he didnt have the two moments where he had passed Kubica and then behind Fisi where the car went strange on him I think he had a prayer of catching Button. Did you guys hear the speed annoucers saying he had 20000 RPMs at his disposal!? My god.
Just a friggin shame he cut the tire on Fisi on lap 4...he would have won the race. His front straight speed was 18km faster than any other car and the move he made to pass Kimi was pretty damn impressive considering how large Kimi's nuts are as well.
I really enjoyed watching this season. Being a long time MS fan, since the Jordan days actually when I saw him at Spa, I am really sad to see him go. He can hang his hat up not and be pretty damn happy that this last season might have been one of his best in terms of sheerly willing the car to go faster.
I have to say I also like the announcers making the point of how he never stopped racing as hard as he could no matter what the hell happened to him. Also liked how they talked about he was working on the last turn trying to figure out in practice how to take it just right to get more speed. Said he did it over and over again.
Congrats to FA as well...he earned the championship.

All I can say is HOORAY DishNetwork!!
SOOO glad I've been able to watch much of the second half of the season.
Can you imagine if MS had scored points at Suzuka? I mean, the tension was pretty great as it was, but I think we all knew that no matter how good of a drive MS had, it was going to be for naught. But to start 10th... then cut a damn tire and have to work his way ALL the way back essentially from dead last and come OH so close to a podium finish... simply amazing.
Anyone heard any talk about that cut tire being from anything intentional on Fisi's part? what a team player
What's next do you think... team owner?
As much as I'd love to see him race in a sports car series, I can't imagine that will happen... unless Ferrari decides to get into LeMans prototypes again :D:D

Awesome performance.
You gotta read Hills comments on him, he just doesn't like him.

I think a lot of people feel the same way... but you know what, I think things could be found similarly for every champion on the planet. Let's face it... nice guys finish last (I should know :D)
speaking of Damon Hill... check out this YouTube video:

I was a huge Schumi fan through the Bennetton and Ferrari days. Right up till Monaco I considered it all part of the game. Then when he parked the car at Monaco I was just pissed.
Put all my Red clothes away and cheered on anyone but Michael for the balance of the season.
A month or so ago I read a little blurb in Autoweek where Michael was the largest single contributor to the Tsunami relief fund and has funded numerous hospitals, schools and such. And we never heard a word about it. After the motor popped at Suzuki, he did a pretty classy thing by going around to all the guys with a very uncharacteristic hug, although I didn't see and crotch grabs, there might have been some.
Anyway when Oprah decides to help out a few school girls we have to see it 300 times on every network in the free world. This guy gives over $50 Million and we never hear about it. I think thats okay.
I had red on this weekend and no matter what whiney boy Damon Hill thinks Michael will go down as the best modern driver....now Jimmy Clark and Juan Manuel.....they were the best of their era.

If only we were able to see more Senna - Schumi matchups... if only :(

I think Hill is a pud always have and always will. He runs his mouth about everything and anything to stay in the spot light. As far as racing contact he ran into MS as much as MS hit him.
I really hope the Schumi retires with some sort of grace and just walks off quietly into the sunset. All the folks throwing darts at MS now are either jealous they couldn't do it or just trying to hang on to their fleeting stardom.

I think this is a very interesting point as well. I personally think its people like him that given money, time and effort in silence to help people out that are really doing it for the purpose of helping out humanity and because they are good people. The folks (Oprah and lots of other Hollywood folks) that do it in the midst of a media circus are just doing it to pump up their name, careers or standing in the community.

I think I saw the crash that Hill refers to in that Hill tribute posted in this thread. Honestly it looked like Michael was ahead of Hill at the start of the turn, so he had the right to the apex. It also looked like Hill had the faster car that day, so you can't really blame Michael for not backing off when he didn't have to but "could have". He basically needed to do everything within the rules to keep Hill behind him that day, and that's what he did. If Hill would have been ahead of him at the corner then I'd say it was un-sportsmanlike, but what I saw was just tough racing. Tougher than most people would have a stomach for, which is probably the reason for all the complaints.

I think Steve has it right. When it came to gut check time I think MS won most of them and thus as in anything else made the person who came out on the bottom feel they didn't have the nuts to beat them so the accusation of cheating comes up.
Hill was a good driver but not great. Mika was much better and probably why MS said of everyone he loved racing against Mika the most.

That was the race where the corner worker was killed right? If I remember correctly, Schumi was very broken up about that as well

Yep
But, it's a debate whether it was that or breaking Sennas record which triggered it. Either way, the TV interviewer was an ass.:miffed:

I tell ya... you could spend a week searching Google and YouTube and still not watch all the varying schumi vids... on that's labeled Schumaker Controversies, basically takes every incident he's ever been involved in (including the benetton pit fire)... implying that they were all somehow his fault LOL.
